I've never been a Laura Marling fan, but then again, I've never really tried to be. However, my first listen of her new single 'False Hope' grabbed my attention. It's a great song, and maybe it's the lyrics speaking to me but I definitely feel an affinity with it as she croons:
"Is it still okay that I don't know how to be alone?...And my worst problem is I don't sleep at night"
Set to be featured on her forthcoming album Short Movie which is out on 24th March, she's previously shared the title track, which doesn't quite rival the urgency of 'False Hope', but has done enough for me to turn my ear to the album once it's out.
