Wade MacNeil has been a busy boy this year. Alexisonfire reformed in March and played at festivals throughout the summer, April saw the release of Desolation Sounds, his second album as the vocalist of Gallows, and now in the closing months he's decided to breath life back into his old Black Lungs moniker for a surprise album.
For those unfamiliar with Black Lungs, it was MacNeil's side project outside of Alexisonfire, his City And Colour if you will, and he released the band's debut album Send Flowers back in 2008 but little else was heard from the band apart from a couple of 7" singles. So the recent release of Pagan Holiday, aptly shared on Halloween, came as quite the surprise, especially as the album was originally stated to drop four years ago.
The tracks were all recorded in 2011 before they were indefinitely shelved but the frenetic energy of the Canadian punks means that the dust refuses to settle on this 13 track LP.
Pagan Holiday is available now via Dine Alone Records.
