I've often compared Grime to Punk, admiring and appreciating both genres for their DIY ethos and sheer underdog energy and ferocity. Well, if the similarities ended there, then Kano has gone one step further on his new track 'Hail', in which he drags both sounds and smashes them together.
Enlisting Rustie to produce the heavy track and the legendary Risky Roadz to shoot the video, Kano keeps it simply takes to the streets, and a barbershop, in a black and white video in which the music does the talking. It's enough to make me want to start a moshpit, even before the Tempa T 'Next Hype' sample comes in at the end.
If that's not enough, the video closes on Kano in a car with fellow grime artists Ghetts and Giggs all listening to another new Kano track, which also sounds like a banger.
What was I just saying about Grime taking over?
