If you haven't been able to tell, I'm super excited for the new Modest Mouse album, and while the wait still isn't over, the release of yet another track, this time 'The Ground Walks, With Time In A Box', is helping to console me.
It's probably my favourite track yet, first reminding me of older Modest Mouse albums, the jangly guitars and Issac Brock's distinctive vocals sound so familiar whilst still sounding new.
If that's not enough, then the closing track of the album 'Of Course We Know' has also been shared. It's a a slower number, invoking memories of 'Little Motel', but sounding far bolder. Despite not seeing/hearing the whole picture/album yet, I can see why they've placed it at the end, it sounds like a great comedown to what is shaping up to be quite the sonic journey.
Also, as if my prayers have been finally been listened to, Modest Mouse have finally announced a string of UK tour dates, the first since their cancelled tour of Summer 2013, HOWEVER, there's no London date currently confirmed. It's like this is some sort of cruel joke, but I'm certain it's just a test of my faith. Regardless of my own disappointment, you can pick up tickets to the following cities from 9:00am this morning:
07/05 – Birmingham, UK @ The Institute
07/07 – Manchester, UK @ The Ritz
07/08 – Leeds, UK @ O2 Academy
07/09 – Newcastle, UK @ O2 Academy
07/12 – Kinross, UK @ T In The Park
Just need to keep waiting.
