Not too long ago we saw the Tunbridge Well punks Slaves take to Radio 1's Live Lounge to cover Skepta's 'Shutdown', and the results were pretty great. Skepta later returned the love by joining them on stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend, and I'm still gutted that I wasn't in attendance for that glorious moment.
However now, in another genre splicing move, R&B musician Miguel took to the Live Lounge to unleash his rendition of Slave's 'Hey' to the world. I always knew Miguel was pretty hardcore after he dropkicked that innocent woman in the head, but now he's taken to acknowledging those influences in his soulful music.
You can hear the original below in order to decide who does it better, but both have their own merits in my book.
