Noisy Ontario punks Single Mothers have released a video for 'Patricide', one of the highlights from 2014's Negative Qualities, the band's debut album. They also weave a portion of the track 'Feel Shame' into the mix as well, to help draw out the action on what would otherwise only be a two and half minute track.
The video feels like a sinister version of 'Fever' by The Black Keys, and as the refrain declares "I need God about as much as she needs me", it becomes brutally apparent that we're dealing with a band that is as happy to point the finger at themselves as they are at others. After all, singer Drew Thomson has previously declared on their track 'Marbles' "Cause I'm a hypocrite, and I'm OK with it, and I'm so self aware that it's crippling".
You should invest time in this band, after all, Negative Qualities is only 20 minutes long.
