A couple of months back we heard 'Frail', the first single from Crystal Castles after the departure of lead vocalist Alice Glass, and the main talking point was regarding the mystery vocalist who was simply credited as 'Edith'.
Anyway, with the second single 'Deicide' (which is said to be named after a Death Metal band of the same name) the mystery continues but the track itself doesn't really hold many surprises. It features a pounding beat, ramped up production, and whispered vocals, and ultimately sounds like your typical Crystal Castles song, but that's not a bad thing. It's hard to digest in daylight, but I imagine it would invoke euphoria in late night ravers.
There's still no word on any forthcoming release, or if the tracks are simply off cuts, but the Kath vs Glass war rages on.
