We here at the SESHWYN ROAD PODCAST are a welcoming bunch. Arguably a nomadic trio ourselves, we are always happy to entertain the strays and vagabonds that pass through Tooting and bring them in close to the SESHWYN bosum. We ask just one thing in return: bring us your most obscure music.
This time around we welcomed SKC's finest Liam McCarthy for a few bevs and a chinwag and I hope you enjoyed the results as much as we did (including the sweet muscle handshake pictured above). We finally made it to double digits, and we've done it in style.
The EVERYTING SESHWYN playlist has been updated with the tracks that can be found on Spotify as per usual, so if you're not following it yet then you better rectify that ASAP.
Trust Hanra to bring the Japanese Jazz Fusion to the table. He's taken us all the way back to 1979 for this Casiopea jam, and whilst I don't know the rabbitholes he falls down to find his stuff, by god I respect him for it.
Christy bought us a lot closer to home with the next one. Like, literally down the road. Alien Kulture were an Asian punk band formed in 1979 in sunny Tooting. Legend has it their hit 'Asian Youth' was actually penned in our very own studio but then again I sometimes I can't be trusted.
Finally Christy hit us with some rare Frank Ocean deep cuts that elude the usual music streaming sites. 'When I'm Done' is a playful take from his early days and can be found as part of a mammoth 66 song mixtape called The Lonny Breaux Collection that's available to download from a few sites. I'm sure he and his label aren't best pleased with that, but we are so kind of balances it out really...
Obligatory shout out to fellow SESHWYN resident Raoul for once again gatecrashing the podcast and talking off-mic - he pleads disinterest but he clearly loves it. Thanks again to the Jalalabadboi himself Liam McCarthy for making the trip down, you're always welcome back if you want to finish the show.
As teased, Episode 11 is looking to be a special Themed edition in order to mix things up a bit so get hyped for that.
You should also give us a follow on Twitter on the @SESHWYN account for daily doses of amazing music & feel free to hit us with any ideas/suggestions/gifts/praise/complaints. Everyone needs to slow down with those postcards addressed to 'Tooting' as I'm struggling to make it through that overflowing PO box.
Until next time - peace and love from all the SESHWYN boys.
