In a time when it seems like every band is making a comeback, Weezer never really went away. Having plugged away since 1992, the band has only ever declared a brief hiatus throughout their 20+ years, and have endured both highs and lows throughout their career.
Their last studio album, 2014's Everything Will Be Alright In The End fell somewhat short of the mark for me personally, but many marked it as a return to form, and I'm probably not the best judge given that I listened to it once and never picked it back up.
Regardless of all that, the band have shared a new track through their fan club entitled 'Everybody Needs Salvation', and it definitely feels triumphant, and has captured my attention enough to ensure repeat plays.
Whether this spells a creative period for the band or they're just putting out unused material from the last recording session is yet to be seen, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for further interesting tracks like this.
